Blog Post IX

When I was reading the chapter in BBG I realized that the best way to get my message and my thoughts regarding body dissatisfaction out to the public was by reaching an older audience that has nothing to do with who I am actually talking about. This logic may sound incorrect but it is not, for the younger generation that is impacted the most from body dysmorphia is heavily dependent on the older generation i.e. their parents in that their parents provide financial assistant and sometimes a place to live for their children. Therefore, if the older generation becomes more educated on how millennials use social media, they will better understand the signs of body shaming and body dissatisfaction from their children's Instagram and Twitter accounts. This relates to the BBG Handbook, because of the discussion of target audience. It may seem completely obvious and straightforward to talk to and about the younger generation on social media when I am talking about body dissatisfaction, and there should definitely be more literacy on this topic, I believe it is just as important to create a public service announcement for the parents and the people in charge of this generation to caution them of the signs of their children potentially undergoing such a condition.
