Blog Post III
Writing research proposals are never fun. At least not for me. I have written countless papers in which I had to develop a research topic and present stats, locate scholarly articles relevant to my topic, to then present all the information and data in APA format with impeccable citing. I found when I was given the opportunity to come up with my own research proposal, it was far more enjoyable to research and write. I took Research Methods this past semester, which was one of the weed out classes for my major. We studied the different types of research one could conduct, but most importantly, how to write about it. We had classes and seminars talking about the dangers of plagiarism and how to cite your information properly so you avoid running the risk of taking someone else’s material and pass it off as your own. This chapter did an impeccable job describing the ongoing process of working on your research question. I found myself shouting the occasional “TRUE” way too often throughout this read. I agree that the paper will be a breeze if you are truly interested in the subject for organizing your research. The best thing the book highlighted was BEING ORGANIZED. Cite your sources as you go, and bookmark all of the scholarly articles you find. When I am conducting research, I like to cite the page and write a brief summary of what the article stated and the results were, it makes locating the exact article you want to write about more accessible and user friendly.
